Fraternity men perform better academically
Last year, over 50% of Westminster fraternity men had a GPA higher than 3.6. Not only do we nurture personal and professional growth, we also reward excellence in the classroom. At Theta Chi, we track each brother’s academic progress and enforce academic policies from Westminster and our own bylaws.
Helping Hand in the Classroom
To ensure academic success, all Theta Chi brothers log their study hours. Our Scholarship Chair keeps a point-tally based on study hour attendance, academic success based on test grades, other factors such as making the Dean’s List (an achievement reached by 63% of our brothers during the Spring ’19 semester). The point system leads to chapter recognition, and sometimes, awards.
Also, our Scholarship Chair meets with any brother who falls below a 2.5 GPA to develop a plan to get back on track.
Meet Our Scholarship Chair: Sam Accordino
Sam is a junior Neuroscience (Pre-Med) major, captain of the soccer team, and former IFC president — just to name a few of his many activities.
This year, Sam was a recipient of the Theta Chi Blue Memorial National Scholarship. Blue Memorial Scholarships are given to brothers pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees who demonstrate scholastic aptitude and financial need. Recipients are selected by a committee of The Foundation Chapter.
